energy efficiency
We pursue efficient energy consumption, both in the production environment and in the office. By continuously striving for optimization and investing in the best technologies, we limit our environmental impact as much as possible.

In 2016, we joined the Energy Policy Agreement (Energiebeleidsovereenkomst, EBO) of the Flemish government, followed by setting up an energy plan, energy reporting, and since 2019 an ISO 50001-certified energy management system

We have already installed about 2,000 solar panels at our sites in Roeselare and Brussels and have grand plans for the future

We also take sustainable measures in our production environment. Recycling and circularity high up on the agenda.
- In 2023, several magazines switched from plastic to a paper wrap. Today, more and more of our titles follow this sustainable example
- In accordance with the standard, we renew our subscription every three years to the sector plan of Febelgra/Fedustria, committing ourselves to minimizing the volume of packaging waste
- We systematically reduce the use of city water: a smart intervention on our cooling installation enabled a saving of no less than 7,000 m³ of water per year
- Since early 2023, our printing house has three modern, highly efficient drying ovens. With sustainable inks, recycled paper, and energy-efficient printing presses, we emphasize our sustainable choices

We attach great importance to sustainable commuting and actively support the green mobility shift in various ways.

We encourage commuting by train and offer employees a free public transport card

Through the flexible Personal Choice Budget (PKB), employees can purchase an (electric) bicycle

Our offices are equipped with electric charging stations, providing practical solutions for those who drive electric vehicles
reducing plastic use in the workplace
We motivate our employees to actively contribute to a sustainable daily work environment
- Every employee is provided with a personal reusable mug and water bottle
- The caps from plastic bottles that are used exceptionally—such as purchased soft drink bottles—are collected in a container and donated to the Friends of the Blind for training their guide dogs
